Conduct of Teachers and Pupils

Choosing to work and learn at GALASA is an explicit choice.

Consequently, any activity or behavior that undermines the effective teaching and learning programmes of the school will result in the application of corrective and/or punitive sanctions.

The underlying principle governing conduct is that all people are entitled to be treated with manifest courtesy and respect.

Teachers are subject to the ethical provisions of the South African Council of Educators (SACE) code of conduct for professional teachers.

Suspected criminal behavior by any pupil, teacher or parent/guardian will be dealt with in terms of the relevant legislation, on a case-by-case basis, and will be referred to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for investigation.
